About Us and Definition Ink.

We met in High School and fell in love.  We were two of the same person then, loving each other with a lot against us at the time.  Being young, both of us living two very different lives, but we always believed in the same thing when it came to what we meant to each other.  We were wild and reckless, we got into all kinds of trouble together which made it all the more adventurous.  We didn’t realize though how tough it would be growing up while holding a relationship down.  No matter how fated it seemed the love we had for each other was, living your beginning adulthood years, then trying to figure out who you are as an adult or as a person became a road filled with trials and obstacles.  Don’t get me wrong, we had the BEST of times, times and memories that nothing could ever compare too, but we also had hardships we had to face.  We experienced the best of times and the worst of times together, but no matter where the road led us, even if at times we veered off different paths it always seemed to lead us back to each other.

Now 11 years and 2 kids later, we are still as much in love as we were when we fell.  We are two different people now then when we were kids but still so much the same.  Our life is our kids, eachother and our families.  We have a nine year old daughter named Aleighja, a 2 year old son named Amari and Martin also has an 11 year old daughter named Mariah.  Our kids are the best kids in the world, I’m sure the way every parent feels about their kids.  Besides having our family life together, we also work together.  We work our 9 to 5 for the same company, which puts the food on the table, as well as our business ventures in photography and music.  I know you are probably wondering how we spend all this time together and still manage to stay in love??  It’s not always peaches and cream.  We are two very opinionated and outspoken individuals, which leads to a lot of debates and disagreements but also leads to the versatility that we have as a couple when it comes to our life and our work.  Basically, we have learned to agree to disagree and still have the out most respect for each other and our opinions.  Every event led till this day has made us that much stronger as individuals and as a team.

Photography became an interest of ours, starting with taking pictures of our kids and special events in our life as well as taking pictures of our friends and family.  Once we started taking photographs, we started to see everything in a different light.  For example, the darkness of a cold, dirty alley, became something artistic, raw and beautiful through our lens.  Taking candid pictures of things and people just living the every day life became more a beauty and an art form rather then just the typical on goings of an average day.  We believe we represent all aspects of what life is about today, the family, the struggle, the love and hope we have in all things.

We chose the name Definition Ink. because we believe that photos capture the essense of whatever it is being pictured along with the memory of the event or object.  The ink that it takes to solidify the picture defines whatever it is happening at that moment in time and can mean different things depending on the eyes that are viewing it.  We hope that our pictures through Definition Ink. Photography gives you a glimpse to view the world as we see it, through our eyes.

    Hey my lovely people!

Excellent job. I love it! The pictures are beautiful and inspirational. As I read your story on how you two became one I smiled until the end. I only pray for others to appreciate one another as much as you two do. The beautiful thing about love is it can create satisfying relationships that can outlive any human or living thing on earth. Love is so powerful that it can also create someone to descend into a path of hope, faith and strength. I want to say congratulations you are a symbol of LOVE. Wonderfully done, and keep pursuing your dreams. Your children will follow in the footsteps of the Harris & Sinson Family. Love, ZEN

Good morning long time friends! The “Martin & Aileen” story brought back memories for me too. Just like Jermaine & I – you two cherish every difference you have as well as all of the similarities you both share. Look at us, we’re all grown up now. Several years have gone by & you have been blessed with beautiful children and all the love in the world. The pictures are great! We appreciate you sharing them with us. Congrats on the progress of the house – I hope we physically get to visit some day. LOL! We love you both. With love in our lives and Aloha in our hearts… Jermaine | Suzanne-Marie | Jrew-Marie | and Baby
